Huri SJA was bred by Yeguada San Juan de Alberche and will arrive from Spain laterin 2011. She has been bred to Candelario III prior to importation to NZ.
Huri SJA combines mainly the bloodlines of Luis Jose and Maria Fernanda Escalera, Miura & Yeguada Militar and carries ancestors such as Vinatero III, Macanuo III, Remache & Lebrijano III in her pedigree.
Her dam Encantada XXXVIII is a very good mare and has been shown successfully in morphology competitions in Spain.
Huri has very good conformation, with a superb topline and floating, forward trot and ample knee lift.
Huri's first foal will be by Candelario III, a qualified stallion with the brand of D. Miguel Bohorquez Ruiz and owned by the Yeguada Militar. Candelario III is by the Albero II son Limeno VIII out of the mare Candelaria V who shares some of her bloodliens with Utrerano VII, sire of Fuego de Cardenas.
Candelario's offspring, the young stallion Barquero XXII received the highest global genetic index for dressage in the 2011 listing of young recommended breeding stock. The Bohorquez stallion, Leviton XIX, grandson of Limeno VIII, was also listed recently with top scores in the 2011 index for dressage.
With the combination of the genetics of Candelario III and Huri SJA, we have very high hopes for this foal, which is due in June 2012. It will be a top breeding and dressage prospect, either as a mare or stallion.
In the future we plan to breed this beautiful mare to our young black stallion Hanna Imperial to lay the foundation for a black PRE breeding programme.
